Decanter 2019 Bronze
Jeb Dunnuck 90 points
The EXTRA-BRUT cuvée is a champagne with the balance and freshness of juicy fruit. It is perfect for drinking with friends or as an aperitif and can be enjoyed right through to when you serve your sweeter culinary inspirations.
The first nose is fruity with a pronounced saline character, expressing notes of quince compote, marzipan, orange pith and pear, with accents of ginger. Aerating the champagne reveals notes of mirabelle plum, wild strawberry, blackcurrant, honey, juicy apple, poppy, yellow peach, lime blossom, and cherry.
The first encounter in the mouth is supple and fresh, with smooth and creamy effervescence. The champagne develops a fruity and pulpy texture, underscored by a hint of orange acidity and succulent fruit. The mid-palate is orchestrated by sandy limestone minerality with a nuance of clay, which brings frankness, sea breeze salinity, fruity volume, and length on the palate, with an outstanding rocky resonance. The fruity, saline substances come together to deliver a juicy and precise ensemble which is very delicate. The elegant finish is even more delectable, delivering a sensation of crunchy fruit with lingering freshness to finish.
