The 2019 is praised for a golden hue and aromas of honeysuckle, vanilla, lemon tart, dried mango, ginger, saffron.
It’s very sweet but not overwhelming (“not unctuous”); the acidity balances the sweetness well.
Oak aging: ~18 months in 500-L Hungarian and French oak barrels (50% new), then ~18 months in large foudres.
Flavor profile includes stone fruit (peach, apricot), citrus blossoms, hints of nutmeg, wax/resin, quince, honey, sometimes with a slightly “Germanic” edge in finish.
