IWSC 2017 Silver
BRUT RÉSERVE VIEILLES VIGNES is a characterful champagne in which fruity and mineral elements mingle together bringing a delicious, gastronomic element to an easy-drinking champagne that is powerful and precise, firmly rooted in its terroir.
The first nose is appealing and delicately fruity with accents of peach, lychee, orange blossom, apple, medlar, raspberry, and quince, gently caressed with scents of orange blossom in a swirl of sea breezes, a hallmark of our terroir. After aerating the champagne in the glass, notes of sloe, blackcurrant, strawberry, ginger and sunflower are revealed, with accents of tangerine, mocha and sweet spices.
The first encounter in the mouth is supple and fresh, with creamy effervescence. The champagne develops a full, fruity and pulpy texture, underscored by a hint of tight orange acidity.
The mid-palate is orchestrated by sandy limestone minerality with a nuance of clay, which brings frankness, fruity volume, sea breeze salinity and length on the palate, with a full mouthfeel.
The dosage supports the balance between saline freshness and fruity richness, while allowing the wonderful mineral sensation to dominate and bring character to the finish.
